Scott joined Colonial Adjustment in 1995 after graduating from the University of Denver with a BS in Business Administration. He decided to follow his father’s footsteps, entering into the family business, with a determination to learn all aspects of insurance adjustment from the ground up. After obtaining his adjusters licenses in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont, Scott handled a wide variety of claims, adjusting property losses and theft claims, attending mediations and settlement conferences, and investigating high profile liability cases.

Scott took over as President in 2010, while his father John T. Kidder III was still CEO, to ensure a smooth transition for clients and employees. In 2014, he became CEO and President, managing all operations of the organization. He still remains hands-on with clients because he believes in accessibility, and the important role consistency and communication play in client relationships. Scott is passionate and eager to continue his father’s legacy for his employees and his own family. Scott works with his management team to continue to foster superior service, and also be responsive in the market to the growing needs of clients.

Scott is a member of the National Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters and the National Claims Professionals. Scott continues his education by attending the Property Loss Research Bureau Claims conference, the Loss Executive Association meetings, Leadership Development programs, and numerous other seminars. He is a past president of the Southern Maine Claims Association and is very active in the National Association of Independent Adjusters.

Scott lives in Windham Maine with his wife Erica. He has two boys attending currently attending college, one at University of Denver and one at Stonehill College. In his spare time he enjoys visiting his son in Colorado to go skiing, as well as following his other son’s college baseball career. Scott also enjoys hunting and fishing with family and friends.
