3 Colonial Adjusters Receive Promotions

We celebrated several key promotions at our Annual Meeting in both our property and casualty areas. Please help us congratulate the following individuals for their advancing expertise as they assume their new levels of adjustment qualification:

Alex Hill – General Adjuster

Alex joined Colonial in 2015 after several years adjusting claims for a national insurance carrier where he benefited from extensive training programs. He has handled losses primarily in Vermont and New England, but has also spent time handling Catastrophe claims throughout the country during large storm events including Super Storm Sandy in Manhattan, NY in 2012. He handles both homeowners and commercial losses in our Property Division, as well as Contractor Property Damage investigations for our Casualty area.

At Colonial, Alex participates in efficiency committees, including learning and demonstrating tablet-based estimating and claim databases that influence our current technology configurations. He always answers the after-hour call, and has handled a substantial number of large and complex losses including several in excess of one million dollars. His coverage analysis is well thought out and extremely accurate, earning him the praise of our largest clients.  

Despite a demanding workload, Alex is also a volunteer firefighter. The knowledge he has gained through firefighting contributes to his investigative skills and analysis of loss and destruction. Alex regularly visits clients and agencies, assisting in the growth of our Colonial client base, and he has contributed greatly to the expansion of our imprint in the Vermont market. Alex has more than earned his new distinction of General Adjuster.

Doreen Hannan – Senior Auto Adjuster

Doreen joined the Colonial Adjustment Auto team in 2015, after 26 years with a large insurance company handling auto, casualty and property claims as a Senior Claims Processor. She loves the variety that claims adjusting offers, and helping insureds through the process.

Doreen was the first on our Auto team to receive a prestigious award from one of our client companies for her superior customer service skills and handling of auto claims. She handles some of the most complex claims in our auto division, and has considerable ability to investigate and settle complex claims. She continually steps up to assist new team members with improving their skills.

Doreen is a dedicated, knowledgeable, and positive member of the Auto team and the Colonial family, and we are pleased to advance her adjuster designation to that of Senior Auto Adjuster.

Jim Provost – Senior Property Adjuster

Jim joined Colonial Adjustment in 2017 with an extensive career in adjusting throughout the East Coast. Additionally, he handled Catastrophe claims in Florida, and has a background in both private and commercial construction. His vast adjusting experience and his work in construction make him a valued member of our Property division, where he handles both homeowners and commercial claims, as well as contractor liability claims.

Jim’s motto is to look for success on a daily basis, and he enjoys working through the multiple levels that insurance claims present in a timely and accurate fashion. He’s never shy about working long hours to meet client demands and often requests additional work to include GLPD claims. Colonial can depend on Jim to handle complex, large losses and he has effectively handled a number of major commercial and residential losses.

Jim closes a remarkable number of files with great efficiency and accuracy. His production and dedication consistently surpass expectations, and we are very proud to promote Jim to Senior Property Adjuster.
