On September 14th we held our first in-person company meeting since 2019! As COVID had kept us apart as a large group for three years, our meeting theme was, “Bringing the family back together.” For us to provide our clients with the best service possible many of our adjusters work remotely so we can effectively cover the entire states of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Due to this fact, our Annual Company Meeting is the primary opportunity for us to be all together as a team. In addition to celebrating our Colonial family, we reviewed market conditions, client services, and how we can remain current and continue to advance as a company. It also provided an ideal setting for our staff to participate in valuable peer to peer collaboration.
The annual meeting also affords us the opportunity to recognize individuals who have proven themselves throughout the year. The following … Read More
On July 8th, a Colonial Adjustment team of golfers teed off for a great cause, participating in the 20th Wish Kids Golf Classic. It was a nice opportunity to have a team of some of our golf enthusiasts get out on the greens again to raise money for this important charity. Proceeds from the Wish Kids Golf Classic go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Vermont to help grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. As a family-first company, we love to support programs such as this that go directly to helping children and families.

This past weekend, members of our Colonial family participated in the Dynamic Dirt Challenge at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester. It was a demanding 3+ mile obstacle course designed to challenge all around strength, stamina, and mental grit. This team building activity certainly helped our group discover a new level of camaraderie as we worked together to achieve a true sense of collective accomplishment, cheer one another on, and of course, have a great time and some laughs!… Read More
On June 2nd a Colonial team participated in the Annual Maine CPCU Society Golf Tournament. We are enjoying being able to get out together on the greens again for this important fundraiser, and I particularly appreciated being able to play with my boys who are becoming skilled golfers themselves (often surpassing their dad!).
This fundraiser supports the CPCU organization which promotes excellence through ethical behavior, resources, and continuing education to enable individuals to expand their technical insurance skills and business capabilities. The CPCU designation is the foremost credential for insurance and adjusting professionals who specialize in risk management and property-casualty insurance. We congratulate those who have obtained this distinguished appointment in their career!

Nothing has made the dedication and hard work of our team stand out more than the challenges over the last year and a half. We were so happy to be able to get together again in person and revive our “annual” Bean Bag Tournament! Our Headquarters affords us some great outdoor space, and we recently took advantage of the last of Maine’s nice fall weather for some friendly competition. Congratulations to this year’s champions – Scott Kidder and Ryan Coffin!… Read More
Colonial staff recently enjoyed some good competitive fun at our Annual BBQ and Bean Bag Tournament last week. We took advantage of the Maine summer weather to gather and relax together in our yard outside company headquarters in South Portland. We took advantage of having the majority of our team together for our Annual Meeting this year, and held our 1st Quarter Employee Appreciation Event at a local bowling alley the evening before. It’s important to us to give our hard working staff a chance to relax together and build comradery. We enjoyed some healthy competition, food and beverages, and the chance to kick back together in the lanes. The winning team was Scott Kidder, Luke Provost, and Barclay Scheick. What a fun night!… Read More
We value the hard work of our staff, and believe it is important for us all to relax and have some fun together once in a while! Our Headquarters affords us some great outdoor space, and this past week we enjoyed some downtime together at what has become an annual beanbag toss event. Serving as our summer Employee Appreciation Event, we took advantage of the last of Maine’s summer weather for some friendly competition during this 3rd Annual Tournament and BBQ.
This year’s event was made more special with an employee-driven fundraising effort throughout the day for Wesley’s Way Foundation. Colonial will be making a matching company gift as well for this important cause that helps so many in need.
A big thank you to Sandra Fogg for organizing the event for us! Congratulations to this year’s champions – Matt Peck … Read More
