Our New Hampshire Team is Growing

Resident Adjuster- Londonderry, New Hampshire

Mary joins Colonial with 10 years’ experience as a property adjuster for a national independent adjustment firm. Her career also includes working with a third party administrator throughout New Hampshire, and she has handled daily and catastrophe claims throughout the country.

Mary most enjoys the wide variety of investigations required for daily property adjusting, and working to help insureds through the process with their claims. She is licensed in both New Hampshire and Maine and will be providing coverage for Colonial throughout New Hampshire.

In her free time, Mary enjoys home improvement projects. Colonial Adjustment Expands Vermont Territory

Resident Adjuster- Fairlee, Vermont


Doug joins Colonial with more than 28 years in adjusting experience with a large national insurance carrier. As an adjuster in Vermont, he has always covered a large geographic territory, and needed to handle every aspect of the adjusting process. This broad experience makes him a perfect addition to our Vermont adjuster team, where he will be handling claims throughout the state for us, particularly in the “Northeast Kingdom.”

Doug began his adjusting career as an auto adjuster. For the past 16 years, he has been a property adjuster, handling first-party losses with some third-party liability claim experience as well. Doug is licensed in both Vermont and New Hampshire. 

Doug lives in Fairlee, Vermont with his wife, Elizabeth, and their three children. In his free time, Doug loves spending time with family enjoying many family activities.

Colonial Supports Young Agents Golf Tournament

Colonial recently sponsored a hole at the Maine Insurance Agents Association’s Young Agent Annual Golf Tournament to support their Scholarship Fund. Supporting community and families is an essential part of our values here at Colonial, and as a family-owned business it was fitting that our CEO, Scott Kidder, was joined by both his sons, Jack and Sam, as well as former Colonial colleague, Peter Dube. New Property Adjuster Joins Our Team

Aaron Trembley
Property Adjuster

Aaron joins Colonial as a property adjuster after working 18 years at an owner-operated disaster restoration company in Camden. He began as a technician in the field, and obtained his IICRC certifications for water damage and mold. In 2015, he became the Claims Manager and Estimator for the company, working with insurance companies and adjusters on the mitigation and repair side of property claims. 

Aaron is licensed in Maine, and will be covering our central and mid-coast Maine territory. 

Aaron grew up and attended college in California. When he was asked by a friend to do a cross-country drive to visit his family in Maine, he tagged along and never went back. He lives in Washington, Maine with his fiancé who he is marrying this August. Colonial Welcomes New Casualty Adjuster

Chris Rand
Senior Casualty Adjuster

Chris joins Colonial after devoting more than 30 years to the insurance industry, working in a variety of claims roles. His focus over the last 20 years has been handling high exposure bodily injury claims and claims litigation. He has worked at large national insurance carriers over the course of his career. In 2021, he retired from Liberty Mutual Insurance Company where he specialized in complex claims resolution.

Chris comes to Colonial with an exceptional background in casualty adjusting, and is highly regarded for his expertise high exposure claims resolution, third-party claims, and litigation investigations. He served many years as panelist for the Intercompany Arbitration Forum, and has been involved with the Southern Maine Claims Association in the past. Chris will be handling casualty claim assignments in Maine and New Hampshire. He is licensed in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island and Connecticut.

Many of you know our Director of Human Resources and Casualty Division, Anne Latendresse. What you may not know is that Anne is fighting an uncommon blood cancer called Myelofibrosis.

Myelofibrosis is considered to be a chronic leukemia – a cancer that affects the blood-forming tissues in the body. Anne’s symptoms have been successfully managed with medication for a number of years, but she has recently learned that she now needs to undergo a stem cell transplant, with the anticipated goal of being cured!

Colonial is holding a drive to help Anne find the donor match that she requires through the donor matching organization, Be the Match. Our campaign, Swab for Anne, asks that you consider a simple cheek swab to join the registry of potential donors. Spotlight on Staff: Andrea Smith, AIC

Andrea Smith, AIC
Senior Casualty/Property Adjuster

Andrea joined our Property Adjusting team in 2019 with 28 years of insurance adjusting experience. She began her career handling Workers’ Compensation claims, specializing in complex injuries, which included representing Employers at depositions and mediations. She then began working for a large national carrier, initially handling auto liability and complex personal injury/litigation cases, before transferring to property claims adjusting. Andrea has since progressed to cover both property and casualty adjusting. Her background gives her an ideal understanding of complex casualty and 3rd party liability investigations, including claims that involve personal injury and/or property losses.

With an analytical mind, Andrea especially enjoys gathering and analyzing data, policy interpretation, coverage, and legal analysis. She is a skilled estimator, and likes the creativity required to sketch plans for reporting.
