Colonial is seeking an AUTO ADJUSTER to join our desk adjusting team. This could be a part or full-time position. Compensation will be determined by experience of adjuster.

We are looking for part-time or full-time Auto Adjusters to join our Desk Adjustment Team. This position is an in-office, remote or hybrid position. Our Auto Adjustment Team assists our clients in handling auto property damage claims over the phone. Delivering exceptional customer service in a prompt and effective manner is of highest priority at Colonial in accordance with our motto, Proven expertise you can count on.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Investigating auto claims to determine liability for motor vehicle accidents.
  • Deliver work product within timeframe guidelines, exhibiting appropriate urgency in response to  clients, policyholders, and team member needs.
  • Utilize claim processing technology effectively.
  • Maintain timely management of claim load and diary reports.
  • Communicate professionally and efficiently with other team members, management, clients, insureds, and various other parties involved  in the insurance claim process.

Required Qualifications

  • Hold and maintain current adjuster’s license for the State of Maine, New Hampshire, or Vermont
  • Strong communication, investigation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast- paced environment
  • Exceptional customer service and phone skills
  • Effective time-management skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer)
  • Business writing skills

Desired Skills

Prior experience obtaining recorded statements is a plus.

Familiar with the CCC Estimating System
