Colonial continues to grow! Providing our clients and their insureds with the best service is our top priority, and in order to meet the demands of our Property Adjusting department, we welcome a new property adjuster to our team!
Barclay Scheick, Property Adjuster
Barclay joins Colonial from a large national company, with a background as an insurance estimator for a general contractor. He has extensive experience in the construction industry, and has managed commercial properties for over 10 years. This expertise makes him a great fit for our property adjusting division. Barkley holds adjusting licenses in New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Connecticut. He will be handling our central Vermont and western New Hampshire territories.
Barclay lives in Hampstead, NH, and enjoys spending time with his family. He is actively involved with the activities of his three children, and has coached lacrosse, basketball and soccer teams. He is an active outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, hiking, archery and camping.

Jim Provost, Property Adjuster
Jim is entering his 10th year in adjusting, and will be handling primarily first-party claims within our property division in the central and northern Maine territories. Some may remember Jim from his previous stint at Colonial, as he returns to Maine after several years working as an adjuster in Massachusetts. His experience includes first- and third-party property adjusting, contractor liability, trucking claims, and general liability adjusting. He is licensed in Maine, Rhode Island and New Hampshire.
Jim lives in Moscow, Maine with his wife Rose of 40 years, and their chocolate Lab, Molly. They enjoy outdoor activities, and have two grown children. Jim’s name may also sound familiar because his son, Lucas, is an adjuster at Colonial.

Operations Manager Announced
We are so pleased to announce that Karin Francoeur has been promoted to Operations Manager!
Karin has been part of the Colonial family since 2007, and has advanced through progressively more responsible positions during her career with us, most recently as the Auto Program Manager, coordinator of our adjuster assignments and schedules, and she is always on call to better serve our clients and their policyholders in times of need. Additionally, Karin serves on our Leadership Team where she plays a key management role, contributing to the achievement of the company’s strategic and operational objectives.
Karin always rises to the challenge in any situation, and is an excellent coach of her growing team of auto adjusters. Her attention to detail, meticulous follow-up, and customer-centered approach represent Colonial’s values superbly, and her vast company knowledge and experience make her new role as Operations Manager a perfect fit. General Adjuster Announces Retirement
After an impressive career as a General Adjuster, Dean Fogg has decided that it is time to retire, effective December 29th. While are our feelings are mixed to see such a key member of our Property Adjusting team leaving, we wish him much enjoyment as he embarks on this next phase in his life.
Dean has been an insurance adjustment professional for 33 years, joining Colonial in 2005 after a distinguished career as an internal adjuster, and having owned his own independent adjustment firm. During Dean’s time at Colonial, he has handled commercial and residential property loss cases throughout Maine, with a concentration on our Bangor, north to Fort Kent territory, as well as the Downeast regions in the Calais area.
Dean has greatly enjoyed working closely with newer adjusters to the business, assisting with coaching and mentoring them as they developed in the field, and traveling throughout the state of Maine on his assignments. He will be missed by Colonial staff and our clients.
Dean is wasting no time once he retires, heading to Florida in January to enjoy a lot of golfing and warm weather! He lives in Enfield, Maine, and is looking forward to spending more time with his wife, Trudy, of 47 years, his family, and four grandchildren. He is also planning some volunteer work with elderly or veteran services in his community.
Dean Fogg has contributed many years of service to Colonial, and his achievements will not be forgotten. Please join us in wishing him the best in his retirement!

At Colonial, we believe our staff is our greatest asset, and we would like to start highlighting individual members of our team so you can get to know them better! It is our dedicated staff who uphold our values, demonstrate our vision of proven expertise you can count on, and deliver on our client promise each day.
As one of our Casualty Adjusters, Debra Bailey has been covering the greater Waterville, Maine area from the Boothbay region, north to Newport, and downeast to Belfast. She will now be expanding her territory to include the Bangor region reaching the northern Maine areas of Aroostook County to St. Francis and east to the Eastport-Machias region.
Debra has been an adjuster for 30 years, working as a Property & Casualty Adjuster for a large insurance carrier before joining Colonial in 2014. Her vast experience working all aspects of claims adjusting brings invaluable expertise to our casualty team. She has a comprehensive understanding of all sides of a claim handling from claims investigation and policy interpretation, to exposure analysis and settlement negotiations.
One of the things Debra enjoys most about her job is meeting all sorts of different people throughout the state of Maine. She brings tremendous organizational skills and attention to detail to each of her assignments, and has a keen ability to understand people from their unique perspective, which makes her excellent in gaining rapport and working with both insureds and claimants.

Colonial Vice-President, John Fitts, recently celebrated 20 years with Colonial, and we would like to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation for his service!

As Vice President of Operations, John supervises the Property Adjustment staff, and serves on Colonial’s Leadership Advisory Team. He is also one of the key supervisors on our Quality Control Management Team, conducting reviews on larger and more complicated claims reports before they are submitted to our client. Chris’ 34-years career as an insurance adjuster for both property and casualty lines, as well as personal and commercial insurance, make him a leader within the adjustment field.
