On July 8th, a Colonial Adjustment team of golfers teed off for a great cause, participating in the 20th Wish Kids Golf Classic. It was a nice opportunity to have a team of some of our golf enthusiasts get out on the greens again to raise money for this important charity. Proceeds from the Wish Kids Golf Classic go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Vermont to help grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. As a family-first company, we love to support programs such as this that go directly to helping children and families.

Every holiday season the Colonial Adjustment family chooses a local charity to support. We care deeply for our community and know the need is greater than ever. This past December, we raised money for a local outreach program for the homeless, Preble Street, and their #SayYes to Saving Lives campaign.
Preble Street provides accessible barrier-free services to empower people experiencing problems with homelessness, housing, hunger, and poverty. They are continuously advocating for solutions to these problems. They serve individuals from every background who share the common hardship of life entering a wildly unanticipated and difficult course. Preble Steet programs not only meet urgent needs, from nutritious meals to crisis intervention, clean clothes to healthcare, showers to a permanent home, but they also create solutions to homelessness and hunger. Their recent campaign, 100 Veterans Housed, provided warm, safe housing for 100 Maine Veterans as we entered the winter months … Read More
Colonial recently sponsored a hole at the Maine Insurance Agents Association’s Young Agent Annual Golf Tournament to support their Scholarship Fund. Supporting community and families is an essential part of our values here at Colonial, and as a family-owned business it was fitting that our CEO, Scott Kidder, was joined by both his sons, Jack and Sam, as well as former Colonial colleague, Peter Dube. We are always willing to support such a great event, and have the chance to get some fresh air out on the golf course with colleagues and friends.

Many of you know our Director of Human Resources and Casualty Division, Anne Latendresse. What you may not know is that Anne is fighting an uncommon blood cancer called Myelofibrosis.
Myelofibrosis is considered to be a chronic leukemia – a cancer that affects the blood-forming tissues in the body. Anne’s symptoms have been successfully managed with medication for a number of years, but she has recently learned that she now needs to undergo a stem cell transplant, with the anticipated goal of being cured!
Colonial is holding a drive to help Anne find the donor match that she requires through the donor matching organization, Be the Match. Our campaign, Swab for Anne, asks that you consider a simple cheek swab to join the registry of potential donors. You may be the match Anne is needing – or the life-saving match someone else requires!
We recognize that everyone has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our dedicated team here at Colonial Adjustment continues to provide essential services to people, as they rely on their insurance carriers to provide an immediate response to their claims. While we have been doing everything we can to keep our team safe and healthy so they can continue to serve our clients, we also want to do what we can to help the many people in need. Colonial Adjustment, Inc. will be donating 10% of our income earned as a result of handling coronavirus-related claims to the Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine. The Good Shepherd organization has been channeling its efforts to ensure the people of Maine continue to have access to the food they need during this crisis. We are grateful that we can support these vital services.

Colonial recently sponsored a team for The Casco Bay Swing golf tournament supporting the Young Life Casco Bay program. Young Life Casco Bay helps middle and high school age youth grow in faith, while learning about culture, leadership, and building healthy relationships. Supporting community and families is an essential part of our values here at Colonial, and this program serves more than 11,000 young people annually in the Greater Portland area. We donated $560 for the event, and our team members included (left to right): Anne Latendresse, Phaedra Gallant, Ellen Bois, and Jennifer Scanlon.… Read More
We value the hard work of our staff, and believe it is important for us all to relax and have some fun together once in a while! Our Headquarters affords us some great outdoor space, and this past week we enjoyed some downtime together at what has become an annual beanbag toss event. Serving as our summer Employee Appreciation Event, we took advantage of the last of Maine’s summer weather for some friendly competition during this 3rd Annual Tournament and BBQ.
This year’s event was made more special with an employee-driven fundraising effort throughout the day for Wesley’s Way Foundation. Colonial will be making a matching company gift as well for this important cause that helps so many in need.
A big thank you to Sandra Fogg for organizing the event for us! Congratulations to this year’s champions – Matt Peck … Read More
