CEO Scott Kidder Reflects on 25 Years at Colonial

Our CEO Scott Kidder recently celebrated 25 years at Colonial Adjustment, Inc., the business that his father started. Here he shares his thoughts on this milestone, as well as some of his personal and professional reflections on leadership:

This past week marked my 25-year work anniversary at Colonial Adjustment. This milestone anniversary marking a quarter century of personal and professional growth in this family business that my father started in 1974, combined with everything that our company has been faced with through the COVID-19 pandemic over the last several months, has me feeling reflective. introspective

Colonial is Helping Those in Need

We recognize that everyone has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our dedicated team here at Colonial Adjustment continues to provide essential services to people, as they rely on their insurance carriers to provide an immediate response to their claims. While we have been doing everything we can to keep our team safe and healthy so they can continue to serve our clients, we also want to do what we can to help the many people in need. Colonial Adjustment, Inc. will be donating 10% of our income earned as a result of handling coronavirus-related claims to the Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine. The Good Shepherd organization has been channeling its efforts to ensure the people of Maine continue to have access to the food they need during this crisis. Coronavirus Update to Our Community

We want to provide you with an update on how we at Colonial Adjustment, Inc. are addressing the challenges of the coronavirus (COVID-19) as the illness continues to impact us all.

Our primary concern is for the health and safety of our Colonial family – our clients and their insureds, and our team and colleagues. For that reason, we have put in place several protocols intended to keep our staff and the community safe, while still allowing our adjusters to continue to serve our clients. Company travel has been restricted to the states that we service, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, and our staff is working remotely from their homes. New Senior Property Adjuster Joins Colonial

Todd Reynolds
Senior Property Adjuster

Todd joins the Colonial family after spending 22 years as a property adjuster for national insurance carriers. He has worked as both an inside and field adjuster, and has a Level 2 Certification in Xactimate property adjusting software. Todd enjoys the process of adjusting, working a problem through from beginning to conclusion, providing quality customer service to policyholders in resolving their loss.
Todd is licensed in Maine, New Hampshire and Connecticut, and will be assisting on losses throughout Northern New Hampshire and Western Maine.
Todd lives in Naples, Maine, with his wife Casey. They enjoy getting outside to hike, fish and snowmobile.

Colonial Welcomes New Casualty Adjuster

Don Vickery, CPCU
Senior Casualty Adjuster

Don recently joined the Colonial team after 39 years working in both the public and private insurance sectors. His experience covers a wide variety of claims adjustment areas including serious personal and bodily injury, professional liability, and claims litigation. He has served in various management roles throughout his insurance, risk management and loss control career, and attained his CPCU designation in 2011. Don enjoys the forensic aspect of casualty claims adjusting, putting all the pieces together during the investigation phase, and helping insureds through what are difficult experiences.
Don is licensed in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, and will be handling claims assignments in New Hampshire and Vermont.
Don lives in Contoocook, NH, with his wife Patricia and enjoys hiking, rock climbing, kayaking and snowshoeing with his family, along with reading and classical music.

Colonial staff recently enjoyed some good competitive fun at our Annual BBQ and Bean Bag Tournament last week. Welcome New Property Adjuster James St. Cyr

James brings 20 years of experience in the insurance industry to our Property Adjusting Division. He has been a property adjuster for over four years, having worked at both a large insurance carrier and a national independent adjusting firm prior to joining Colonial. He began his career working for a mitigation firm in Florida during the Hurricane Floyd cleanup in 1999, and continued to work for mitigation companies, serving as a project manager and estimator. His well-rounded industry expertise and knowledge is a tremendous asset to our team.

James will primarily assist in our Southern Maine-York county and southern New Hampshire territories. He is licensed in Maine and New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island and Connecticut.

James and his wife, Evelyn, live in South Berwick, Maine, and have two young daughters. They enjoy music as a family, and their eldest girl is a budding local musical theatre performer.
