Colonial Celebrates 45 Years

A Note from CEO/President, Scott Kidder:

Today marks a very special day here at Colonial Adjustment, Inc. – 45 years ago, on September 3, 1974, my father opened Colonial Adjustment. I’m so appreciative of his qualities of entrepreneurship and tenacity that led him to open and grow his own business, and to share that business with me and my family. My father taught me the importance of building relationships, fostering trust by keeping your word, and treating everyone like family. Our amazing team of dedicated employees help me to continue these values today, and I’m proud to be carrying his legacy on into the future!… Read More

General Adjuster Announces Retirement

It is always difficult to say farewell to a member of our Colonial family. So it is with mixed feelings we announce that General Adjuster, Duane Fricke, is retiring effective in June.

Company founder, John T. Kidder III,  who brought Duane to the company originally, was on hand at our Annual Meeting to give his well-wishes to Duane.

Duane has had an impressive career with 45 years under his belt in adjusting, claims management roles, and running CAT operations throughout the Northeast.

He began his insurance career in 1974 with a national independent adjustment company, learning the ropes in property adjusting and quickly advancing his career to claims management roles. Prior to joining Colonial Adjustment in 2006, he worked for a major carrier as a General Adjuster in northern New England, responsible for large commercial and personal lines property claims.

Colonial Adjusters Receive Promotions

We celebrated several key promotions at our Annual Meeting in March, in both our property and casualty departments. Please help us congratulate the following individuals for their advancing expertise as they assume their new levels of adjustment designation:

Ryan Coffin

Ryan joined Colonial in 2013, and has consistently worked to expand his knowledge and grow as an insurance professional, earning his AIC designation in 2016. He is one of our most versatile adjusters, and demonstrates his dedication to the needs of our clients by consistently volunteering to work GLPD and other casualty claims on top of his demanding property claim workload. Ryan seeks out exposure to larger losses, and he has effectively handled a number of major commercial and residential losses.

Ryan was selected as a member of Colonial’s Efficiency Committee, and participated in a field-study in the use of mobile devices to prepare estimates in the field. Additionally, he … Read More

Colonial Team Supports Cancer Fundraiser at Mary’s Walk

A Colonial team showed up ready to support cancer fundraising at this year’s Mary’s Walk in Saco, Maine on March 24th! Decked out in our event t-shirts, we had 13 members of Colonial staff and family walk, and we raised $775 including our Company gift. It is very important to us to support community non-profits, and we were very touched by this note received from a staff member, “Dear Scott, I wanted to thank you from myself and my husband for backing us in the walk. It was very important for me to have participated. Colonial Adjustment Inc. is doing wonderful things for other person(s) that are in need. I just wanted you to know.”
